Christian College Geelong (Surf Coast Campus) is now home to new Year 7 classrooms, with Federal Member for Corangamite, Libby Coker, officially opening the new facilities in Jan Juc alongside members of the school community.

Ms Coker said the new classrooms feature spaces for food technology, art and design, visual communications, textiles and materials technology, and was delivered with support of $1.8 million through the Australian Government’s Capital Grants Program.

“Better classrooms mean more opportunity for school communities to thrive and that’s exactly what these new facilities will help deliver,” Ms Coker said.

“These buildings offer students a modern space to develop life-long skills like cooking, sewing, and design, whilst also building their capacity to pursue a creative career path – it’s such a win for the school community.”

“The Albanese Government is committed to providing all schools with appropriate funding so that all students get the best possible education.”

Ms Coker said the new facilities would benefit the students currently at Christian College Geelong (Surf Coast Campus), as well as the many students to follow in the future years.
